Recipe- Healthy Cacao Bites

Rachael CrowBlog

Cycle day 6, inner spring. My inner girl wants chocolate biscuits! My hearth goddess (see pic above) watches over me and guides me to make tasty nutritious foods…. And for those of us in perimenopause it’s really important we look after our health which means having a good diet!! So here’s my raw ultra nutritious cacoa bites… I blended some toasted nuts and seeds, added gluten free oats and yam flour. Then I blended some majool dates with melted cocoa drops and mixed it all together!

What you’ll need…

1 cup of gluten free oats

1/2 cup Yam flour (coconut flour works too)

1 cup of nuts- I used a mix of almonds, cashews, pecans and walnuts

1/2 cup of sunflower seeds

1/2 cup of pumpkin seeds

1 cup of majool dates (or soaked dates)

200 grams cacao drops

Toast the seeds and nuts in the oven, grind in a blender, add to a mixing bowl and mix with flour and oats.

Melt the cacao drops and mix with the dates in a blender- if its too thick, add a few table spoons of warm water to get a slightly sloppy consistency.

Mix it all together then smooth out into a baking tray. pop it in the fridge to set…then viola, choco bites!
