Introduction to Trauma Workshops
Trauma feels complex and overwhelming.
It disconnects us from ourselves, from our life force, pushes us into survival, believing the world is an unsafe, lonely place.
How do we move out of the ‘Survival of the fittest’ programming most of us live in?
Trauma healing counteracts this belief and mode of being.
In group we will hold a space to connect back to ourselves and others; using simplicity to heal.
The body knows how to heal.

In these introduction to trauma workshops we will explore ways to build your body’s capacity to engage in life’s challenges, increase your sense of wellbeing and safety, we will reconnect in order to move out of survival into thriving.
You’ll learn about the power of our nervous system- looking at the mind-body connection, how our physical sensations inform our feelings, beliefs and actions and how we can use this connection to increase our sense of well being and our energy.
On an energy level trauma is stuck life force energy and during this course we will be exploring ways to free up that energy.
Who will you become with that energy available to you?
You deserve to feel well.
You deserve to thrive.
Come join us on the journey of trauma healing and reconnection.
Sessions will be building on eachother.

More about Maia-
Trauma is my passion, I have been immersed in trauma work for 10 years. Trained with Juliet Yelverton and teaching alongside Juliet for many years, I have also worked with organisations such as police and probation.
I also offer 1-1 sessions via zoom .
I am a trauma healer. I have been studying trauma healing for over 10 years. My work focuses on reconnection and relational healing. Our safety comes from connection and trauma disconnects us.
I was a dancer, teaching dance until I had a life threatening fall of over 60 feet. I fractured my pelvis and skull which put an end to my dance career. I had a long journey of physical and mental healing.
After my fall I was suffering from PTSD. I found a therapist who specialised in trauma and had my light bulb moment. I was traumatised from my fall. But I also realised I was traumatised from my childhood. Realising this was like putting on a pair of glasses. I could see! I could see my trauma for the first time and in the people around, I could see they were suffering from the effects of trauma and stress too.
Suddenly everything started to make sense, why I thought and felt the way I did, why my close relationships were the way they were and why other people behaved the way they did.
I needed to know more. So I started to study trauma and developmental trauma. I studied and apprenticed with a trauma therapist. And then started running Continued professional development, workshops and courses on trauma awareness, trauma recovery and trauma informed practise.
My trauma has had a big impact on me. But what I am really interested in is how it affects me now. Because that is the main bit I can influence. I have found ways to support my health, my body and my nervous system, to challenge with courage and compassion my mistaken beliefs about myself and life and to support myself to step out of overwhelm and survival and into engaging with life.
I have studied dance, reiki, massage, EFT’s, TRE, cookery, safeguarding, Trauma awareness and recovery and am currently studying hypnotherapy.
I am passionate about holding spaces and creating resources for people wishing to safely reconnect and build capacity to engage with life here in the present.
Our trauma affects us, mind, body and spirit but we can become the space our traumatised self needs to heal.
There are many tools we can use to find our connection again and that is what I am most passionate about.
